A Memorial Service for Robert Leroy Koenig, 85, of Bull Shoals, AR will be 11AM, Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Christ By the Lake Lutheran Church in Bull Shoals, AR with Reverend Mike Clark officiating. Robert died in Springfield, MO on December 20, 2014.
Robert was born December 19, 1929, at Wausau, WI to Robert Phillip and Hertha Leider Koenig. He married Marion Helen Kufahl on March 3, 1951, at First English Lutheran Church in Wausau, WI. Robert was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of Hoevel-Barnett Post #1341 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Robert worked for Milwaukee Cheese for over 25 years and Sysco Food Company for six. He retired to Bull Shoals in 1992, he enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Retired Fisherman's Club. Robert was an avid hunter and Civil War History buff. One of the highlights of his life was visiting Gettysburg in 1999.
Robert is survived by wife, Marion Koenig of Bull Shoals, AR; three children, Patricia Seivert (Robert), Kathyrn Ellis of WI and Timothy Koenig of MO; two sisters, Audrey Parent and Nellie Weinke of FL; two grandchildren, Chad and Kristi. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and grandson, Joshua.
Memorials may be made to the Christ by the Lake Alter Guild or the Cancer Society.
