Robert died Monday, April 25, 2011 at St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 84. He was born May 15, 1926 in Ellenville, New York, the son of Alexander and Margarite Tewilliger McClay. He married Genevieve Jean Fitzsimmons on May 28, 1949 at Monticello, New York. He worked as a Correction Administrator for the New York Department of Correction. Robert McClay was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a Sonar Man First Class. Robert lived in Bull Shoals, Arkansas since 1990 moving from Dunellon, Florida. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
Robert is survived by his wife, Genevieve, 4 daughters, Maureen (Michael) Harris of Fort Worth, TX, Michele (Steven) Gordon of Dover, DE, Kathleen (Robert) Bieg of St. Louis, MO and Eileen McClay of Atlanta, GA; 7 grandchildren, Patrick, Sean, Colleen, Alex, Andrew, Robert and Kelley and 2 great-grandchildren Colin and Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas, 2656 Hwy 201 North, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
