Robert Merriman

Funeral services for Robert C. Merriman of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at First Baptist Church, with Dr. David Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Born August 31, 1930, Congress, Park, IL to Harry and Ann Merriman, went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2011, Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sister; Audrey Graham and Myra Williamson. He is survived by his son, Chad Merriman, daughter-in-law, Julie and granddaughter Logann and his ex-wife Joan Merriman of Mountain Home, Sister Carol Wisen and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Merriman served in the Air Force; he was employed at Durand Printing Company for 17 years. In 1972 he moved to Mountain Home with his family. He built Tara Apartments, Champion Boats and several businesses to locate in Mountain Home, such as Waspi Fly, Aeroquip and Epoxyn Products. Mr. Merriman moved to Rogers, Arkansas, in the mid 80's and was employed by Parkin Brothers Printing in Little Rock, Arkansas. He then moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona where he lived for several years before returning to Mountain Home in 2005.

Bob loved restoring cars and fishing. He and his son, Chad were currently building a '66 Cobra. He was an active member of the Lion's Club in Sun Lakes, Arizona and he attended First Baptist Church, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
