Robert Owen Novotny passed away March 8, 2018, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 68. He was born March 9, 1949, in Yonkers, New York, the son of Michael and Beulah Sullivan Novotny. Robert was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He received a Silver Star, 4 Bronze Stars, 4 Purple Hearts, Vietnamese Medal of Honor, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and a Joint Service Commendation Medal. He completed three combat tours in the Republic of South Viet Nam. He married Edda Fritsche and worked as a Detective for the New York Police Department for 21 years, receiving 21 commendations of Excellent Police Work, 2 Combat Crosses and was a candidate for Police Medal of Honor. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, history and reading.

Robert is survived by his sister-in-life, Susan (Ray) Covington of Mountain Home, AR and his dog, Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Funeral Services will be private.
