Robert "Bob" Elry Roderick passed away just after celebrating his 88th birthday, on November 2, 2018, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born November 3, 1930, in Sullivan, Missouri, the son of Leslie and Roby Pixley Roderick. He graduated from Sullivan High School in 1950. A veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, Bob retired from the United States Air Force in 1975, after 24 years of service. He moved to Mountain Home in 1981. He married Connie Wallick Riley on September 5, 1984. He enjoyed his family, bowling, golf, reading, watching movies, news commentary shows, and sports. He especially enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Arkansas Razorbacks Football and was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. Bob and Connie traveled all 50 states and Canada. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #3246. Bob took great pride in flying the flag of our country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters. Bob is survived by his wife, Connie Roderick of Mountain Home, AR; brother, Earl (Ruth) Roderick of Mountain Home, AR; sister, Charlotte Childers of Maryland; five step-daughters, Joan (Michael) Young of Mountain Home, AR, Dr. Janet (Steve) Cathey, Jean (Pat) Hurst, Suzanne Riley, and Jill Holman, all of Little Rock, AR; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Bob will be private. Burial will be held at a later date in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the VFW Flag Fund or a charity of choice.
