Robert Laurence Schaper of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away August 4, 2021, at Baxter Regional Medical Center, at the age of 70. He was born March 25, 1951, in Clayton, Missouri, the son of Oliver and Lillian (Jackson) Schaper. Robert was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Roberta Hollander on May 8, 1972 in Woodbridge, VA. After leaving the military, he worked in banking as a Loan Officer in Missouri. The Schapers lived in Mountain Home since moving from Kirkwood, MO, in 2020 to be closer to the area he loved. Robert was also an active labrador retriever enthusiast and competed and judged in AKC sponsored events for over 20 years, enjoyed hunting and the outdoors in general.
Robert is survived by his wife; sister, Carol Miller of Fort Myers, FL; brother-in-law, James (Abby) Hollander of Woodbury, MN; nephew, Terry Paul (Faith) Miller of Alva, FL; and nieces, Katherine Hollander of Oakland, CA, Janet (Tony) Burns of St. Louis, MO, and Trisha McDaniel of St. Louis, MO.
Due to the pandemic, private memorials will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
