Robert M. Taylor of Norfork, Arkansas, passed away May 21, 2024, in Covina, California at the age of 98. He was born October 28, 1925, in San Diego, California, the son of Robert Manley and Sarah McLeland Taylor. He married Gloria Celaya on September 4, 1948, in San Diego. Robert was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, and served in the European Theater and Asiatic Theater (South Pacific). He was employed by General Dynamics Missile Division of Pomona. After 35 years, he retired as a Chief Contracts Administrator. Robert lived in Norfork, Arkansas since June 2, 1988, and recently moved back to California to be with family. He was a lifetime member of several organizations, including; the Elks, National Rifle Association, California Rifle and Pistol Association, and VFW. He was best known for his love of photography, locomotives, tinkering, and family .

Robert is survived by his daughter, Laura C. Taylor McAtee of Diamond Bar, CA; grandchildren, Russell Taylor of Mountain Home, AR, Robyn Taylor Snyder of Mountain Home, AR, Calli McAtee Devlin of Johnsonville, NY, Katie McAtee Badiee of Brea, CA, and Travis McAtee of Riverside, CA; and great-grandchildren, Erika Snyder of Mountain Home, AR, and Melanie, Taylor, Blake, and Sonora Devlin of Johnsonville, NY.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gloria Taylor; parents Robert and Sarah; son, Howard Martin Taylor; and great-grandson, Austin Snyder.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain Home, Arkansas. A Funeral for Robert will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Galatia Cemetery, Norfork, Arkansas. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and United States Coastguard Honor Guards.
