Rodger Benny

Funeral services for Rodger Lee Benny of Mountain Home, AR, will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 14, 2009 at First Apolostic Church, with Reverend Thomas Dickard, Jr. and Reverend Floyd Flowers officiating.

Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Thursday, August 13 at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 4:00 P.M., Thursday, August 14, 2009 at the McClain Cemetery, Locust Grove, Oklahoma with Reverend Thomas Dickard, Jr. officiating.

Rodger died Monday, August 10, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 62. He was born Sunday, December 1, 1946 in Los Angeles, California, the son of William E. and Vivian Maxine Goddard Benny. He married Rosella Copeland Dickard on August 20, 2004 at Mountain Home, Arkansas and was a welder and worked at Eaton Corp. after his retirement. Rodger Benny was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam. He lived in Mountain Home since 1993 moving from Misouri. He was a WWII history buff and collected U.S. postage stamps. He enjoyed working with his cows.

Rodger Benny is survived by his wife, Rosella Benny, 2 sons, Armando (Caristella) Benny of Chula Vista, CA and Anthony (Melissa) Benny of San Diego, CA, daughter, Ana (Jon) Peterson of Marietta, CA, 2 step-sons, Thomas (Sarah) Dickard, Jr. of Flippin, AR and Timothy Dickard of Mountain Home, AR, 2 step-daughters, Rebekah (Marcos) dos Santos of Flippin, AR and Susanna (Randy) Edwards of Quitman, AR, 8 grandchildren and 1 Special Aunt and Uncle, Nina and Robert Moore of Gassville, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial will be in the McClain Cemetery, Locust Grove, Oklahoma with Gavin Bell, Ruben Pasillas, Rogelio Garay, Diego Marteniz, Hector Shanchez and Billy Hargett as pallbearers.

Military Honors will be provided by Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the First Apostolic Church.
