Roger Cogil died Thursday, September 11, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 71. He was born Thursday, June 10, 1937 in Aurora, Nebraska, the son of Boyd and Delpha Jones Cogil. He married Joyce Johnson on September 10, 1966 at Chicago, Illinois. He worked as a Metallurgical Engineer and was an U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam and awarded a Purple Heart along with other commendations. He was part of the USAF Strategic Air Command, 15th Air Force, 47th Air Division, 93rd. Bombardment Wing. He lived in Lakeview since 1996 moving from Palatine, Illinois and was a member of Instrument Society of America. Roger loved the outdoors, to fish and hunt and enjoyed tinkering around the house. He achieved Eagle Scout by the age of 14. Survivors: Roger Cogil is survived by his wife, Joyce Cogil and 2 daughters, Kathy Cogil of Kansas City, MO, and Cindy Cogil(Oliver Baumann) of Washington, DC and sister, Jolene Cogil of Lakewood, CO. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral: A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Roger Lee Cogil of Lakeview, AR, will be 2-5 P.M. Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Family Home. Burial: Burial will be in the Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
