He married Wandola in 1963 in Las Vegas, Nevada and worked as a milkman. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Roger lived in Mountain Home since 2009 moving from Fost Falls, Indiana.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by 1 son, Richard Fortman of Pathdrum, ID, 1 brother, Wayne Fortman of Flippin, AR, 2 sisters, Kay Menzel of Tampa, FL and June Boeltner of TN, 1 granddaughter, Savannah M. Fortman and close friends, Harold Parish of Post Nalls, ID, John Caldwell of Post Nalls, ID and Marsha Young of Athol, ID.
