A Celebration of Life for Roger William Stehl, Sr. of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, will be 11AM Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, AR with Heather Marsalis and Pastor Bill Hughes as Celebrants. Family will receive friends from 10AM until time of service. Military Honors will be provided by United States Army Honor Guard and Hoevel-Barnett Post #1341 VFW.
Roger passed away December 9, 2018, in Bull Shoals, Arkansas at the age of 85. He was born November 2, 1933, in La Salle, Illinois, the son of Edward and Louise Karlosky Stehl. Roger served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Bonnie Reed on October 1, 1960, in Spring Valley, Illinois and worked for 31 years as a General Foreman for All-Steel Furniture Inc. Roger had lived in Bull Shoals since 2006, after raising his family in Oswego, Illinois and spending 15 years as an active member of his community in Bradenton, Florida. Roger was a patriotic man who loved his country, his family and life. He enjoyed spending time on the lake with family, socializing with his neighbors and listening to songs about America.
Roger is survived by his son, Roger (Rose) Stehl, Jr. of Lakeview, AR; daughter, Beth (Thomas) Schoonenberg of Naperville, IL; brother, Donald Stehl of IL; grandchildren, Jack van Schoonenberg and Tara Schoonenberg of IL, and Jessica (Zack) Nolte, and Ryan (Fiancee, Ashley Finch) Stehl, and Brandon Wilson all of Wisconsin and great-grandchild, Greyson Nolte.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Bonnie.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or a Veterans Charity of your choice.
