Funeral Services for Roland Dean Loudon of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be private.
Dean passed away May 28, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 72. He was born May 3, 1942, in Diagonal, Iowa, the son of Lawerence and Dorothy Foster Loudon. He married Sheryl Fairchild on May 11, 1968, at Boone, Iowa. Dean was a member of the National Guard and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad. Dean has lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas, since 1996. He owned and operated the Silver Maple Motel in Mountain Home, Arkansas. In 2003 he moved back to Ogden, Iowa, until his return to Mountain Home in 2011.
Dean is survived by his wife, Sheryl Loudon of Mountain Home, AR; son, Darren (Karen) Loudon of Olathe, KS; three brothers, Ross (Kate) Loudon of Boone, IA, Rodger (Trish) Loudon of Minneapolis, MN, and Rob (Jill) Loudon of Boone, IA; two sisters, Donna Akers of Glenwood, IA, and Lora “Gay” (David) Dodge of Russelville, AR; two grandchildren, Dean’s little sweethearts, Briana and Braydon Loudon; uncle, Wally (Mary Wirtz) Loudon of Boone, IA; two brother-in-laws, David and Daryl Fairchild, both of Boone, IA; classmate, Eldon (Kay) Strange of Des Moines, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Hugh and Lena (Walters) Foster, and Ralph and Lucille (Paisley) Loudon, and parents-in-law, Harold and Fern (Brower) Fairchild.
