Ron Richter

A Celebration of Life for Ron Richter, Mayor of Bull Shoals, will be held at 10:00 am Saturday June 5th at Bull Shoals Theater of the Arts. Ron passed away Tuesday May 18th at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX after a battle with lung cancer. He was 77 years old. Ron was born December 10th 1932 in Chicago, IL to Adam and Marie Richter. He married Nanci Pagona on March 19th 1955. Ron retired to Bull Shoals in 1988 after serving 26 years with the Chicago Fire Department. He was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard patrolling the harbors of New York City during the Korean War era. Ron will be remembered as a dedicated public servant and a true friend to the people of Bull Shoals. He was elected the Mayor of Bull Shoals in 2007 and was the president of the Bull Shoals Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, president of the Bull Shoals Theater and was responsible for the building of the Little Bit Used Shop. Ron was a past Director of Public Works in Bull Shoals and Alderman for the city. Ron loved to spend time with his friends fishing. He leaves behind his sister Betty Ohm of McHenry, IL, 5 children, Lynette (Michael) Lane of Houston, TX, Roni Jo (Dan) Piekarz of Antioch, IL, LeAnne Richter of Chicago, IL, Daniel Richter of Chicago, IL and Leesa (Jamie) Terzulli of Chesterfield, VA. 8 Grandchildren: Alicia & Mike Troman, Jenna, Leah, Todd & Haley Terzulli, Savanna Richter-Fassett, Samantha Richter and his little schnauzer Sasha. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nanci, son Todd Richter, who died October 2, 1981 and his beloved dogs Magoo 1 and Magoo 2. In lieu of flowers and at Ron?s request, memorials may be made to Bull Shoals Theater, Bull Shoals Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, The Little Bit Used Store, or Hospice of the Ozarks.
