A Graveside Service for Ronald Richard Duhs of Lakeview, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, with Pastor Eric Sparks officiating.
Ronald passed away October 28, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born January 5, 1934, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Thomas and Susan Ondo Duhs. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 56 years, Jeanette Duhs, and son, David Duhs,
He retired from the U.S. Army after over 20 years of service including Viet Nam and Korea. Ronald lived in Lakeview since 1982, moving from Pawnee, Illinois. He married Bonnie Rohde on January 5, 2009, in Mountain Home. Ronald enjoyed woodworking, fishing, cowboy movies and was known as a very gregarious man that loved spending time with family and friends. Ron loved learning and over the years earned a master's degree in theology and a bachelor's degree in legal studies. He had an enduring faith in Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Bonnie Duhs of Lakeview, AR; son, Ronald R. (Kay) Duhs of Webster, FL; daughter, Gail (James) Austin of Pawnee, IL; six grandchildren, David McKinney, Melanie (James) Cottle, Jeremy (Heidi) McKinney and Ashley (Juan) Mirelez all of Webster, FL, Kalen Duhs of St. Louis, MO and Cory (Sarah) Sisk of Ft. Worth, TX; eight great-grandchildren, Paige, J.J. and Whitney McKinney, Abby Reeves and Bryce Cornell, Hailey and Kameron Mirelez all of Webster, FL and Evie Sisk of Ft. Worth, TX; brother, Larry Duhs of Springfield, IL; daughter-in-law, Shari Duhs of Virden, IL; and four step-children, John, Robert, Timothy and Chadd Rohde and many extended family.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #3246 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
