Ronald E Olson, Sr.

Ronald E Olson, Sr. of Norfork, Arkansas, passed away June 24, 2023, in Norfork, Arkansas at the age of 90. He was born November 6, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Charles Alexander and Erica Isabel Peterson Olson. He married Sally Wessels on September 14, 1957. Ronald was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a mechanic while in the service. Ronald worked as a truck driver for many years, before retiring from J.B. Hunt. He lived in Norfork since moving from Crystal Lake, Illinois in 1971. Ronald was a quiet man who enjoyed working on cars and woodworking. He helped to build his house, made baby cradles, and two canoes with his skills. Above all, Ronald loved spending time with his family. For the last 40 years, Saturday morning coffee was a family event that everyone gathered for.

Ronald is survived by his children, Richard (Tina) Olson of Norfork, AR, Dawn (Frank) Stiner of West Plains, MO, Debbie (Keith) Parnell of Norfork, AR, Randy (Traci) Olson of Norfork, AR, Jeanie (Bernie) Hertweck of Mountain View, AR, Ronald (Carrie) Olson, Jr. of Norfork, AR, Lovie (Dean) Orr of Cabot, AR; brother, Steve (Jill) Olson of Saugerties, NY; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Olson; parents, Charles and Erica Olson; and brother, Charles (Betty) Olson.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life.
