Roy Reed

A Memorial Service for Roy Sanford Reed of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Wayne Wood officiating. Roy passed away November 30, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 81. He was born October 14, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Everett and Lottie Robertson Reed. He married Penny Zerrenner on September 12, 1952. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea, from August 14, 1950 until February 2, 1952, when he was wounded and medically discharged. They had two sons, Lance R. Reed of Sheridan, WY and Scott R. Reed of Afton, WY, one daughter, Robin (Thomas) Reed of Minneapolis, MN and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Roy worked for White Motor Co., and then had a heavy equipment business. They moved to Mountain Home in 1992. Penny passed away in October 2001. He married Thelma Gromer on December 28, 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Penny; sister, Juanita and son, Roy Jr. He is survived by his brother, Donald (Bonnie) Reed of Rolla, MO; sister, Virginia (Raymond) Schmidt of Crestwood, MO and his wife Thelma. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
