Russell Dale Papen passed away June 17, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 84. He was born May 31, 1933, in Lamar, Nebraska, the son of Virgil and Geneve Papen. He married Elaine Fisbeck on August 12, 1952, in Holyoke, Colorado, and was a manager for the Boeing Company. Russell was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Russell lived in Mountain Home since 1991, moving from Wichita, Kansas. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the American Legion Post #52 and the National Honor Society of Secondary Schools.
Russell is survived by his wife, Elaine Papen of Mountain Home, AR; four daughters, Ardella (Dennis) Hauck of St James, MO; Debra Quade of Mountain Home, AR; Linda Taylor of Duncan, OK; and Karen Wendling of Mountain Home, AR; brother, James (Lorraine) Papen of Rose Hill, KS; sister, Kathryn Widener of Haysville, KS, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert and Victor Papen.
A Funeral Service for Russell Papen of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Reverend Kenneth Taglauer and Reverend F.W. Hagemeier officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and The United States Army Honor Guards. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
