Ruth Basye

Funeral services for Ruth A. Basye of Lakeview, Arkansas, will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Twin Lakes Baptist Church, with Dr. Sam Bailey officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until service time at the church. Ruth died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Twin Lakes Nursing Center, at the age of 88. She was born August 30, 1921 in Eads, Colorado, the daughter of Martin and Clara Jose Migendt. She married Edwin J. Basye on March 9, 1940 at Las Vegas, Nevada and was a homemaker, ardent praying Christian, a faithful, loving wife, devoted mother of three children, a doting grandma and great-grandma. Ruth was a gifted musician and artist and excelled at piano, organ and keyboard for church services, homes and home meetings, weddings, funerals and radio broadcasts. Her exquisite oil paintings (150+) now adorn many happy homes and gathering places. Ruth was a gracious host to family, friends and strangers, who all enjoyed her gourmet meals. Ruth lived in Lakeview, Arkansas since Dec. 2007 moving from Vacaville, California. She lived to see her 70th Wedding Anniversary on March 9, 2010. Ruth is survived by two sons; Thomas Lynn Basye of Lakeview, AR, and Edwin Mark Basye of Douglas, AZ, one daughter; Loretta Lou Esteves of Allendale, MI; one sister, Ruby Rhea of LaQuinta, CA, several nieces and nephews, including locally; Gordon Aylor and Virginia Avery both of Bull Shoals, AR and Carolyn Pollan of Fort Smith, AR, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Interment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Gordon Aylor, Tye, Sam, Tim, John and Ed Basye as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Twin Lakes Baptist Church, Hope Center. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
