Ruth died peacefully in her sleep on February 24, 2009. She was 90 years old. Ruth was born at Anthony, Kansas to Charles and May Ingram Bridges. She married Harold Roy Clayton on May 31, 1942 at Anthony, Kansas. Ruth was employed by Beech Aircraft as a secretary until her retirement to Bull Shoals in 1980. Ruth was an active member of her church, the Bull Shoals United Methodist Church, and a supporter of the Heifer Project. She loved music, singing in the choir, and caring for her roses. She was much loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Survivors: Ruth is survived by two daughters, Elaine C. Fast (Philip) of Fruit Heights, Utah and Linda Bennett of Bolton Landing, New York, four grandchildren, Douglas Fast, David Fast, Alexis Bennett and Sam Bennett, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and two sisters. Funeral: A memorial service for Ruth Ione Bridges Clayton of Midway, Arkansas will be at 10AM Friday February 27, 2009 at the Bull Shoals United Methodist Church in Bull Shoals with the Reverend Nicholas Lascaro officiating. Burial: Burial will be in Kirby Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Heifer Project or the Bull Shoals United Methodist Church.
