A Funeral Ceremony for Ruth Oleta Lance of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 PM, Monday, March 5, 2012, at Mountain Home Church of Christ, with Brother Ken Burton, Brother Jerry Honey, and Brother Ray Crawford officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel

Ruth passed away March 2, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 92. She was born April 16, 1919, in Norfork, AR, the daughter of John Walter and Elizabeth Crownover George. She married Clyde Lance Sr. on February 11, 1948, at Yellville, AR and was a Homemaker. Ruth was a lifetime resident of the Mountain Home area and was a loyal Christian of the Mountain Home Church of Christ. She worked for the Mountain Home Five and Dime in the late 1930's and early 1940's. She loved to cook, bake, work in her garden and can vegetables. She was a friend and neighbor to many. George's Cove was named after her family after the farm she was raised on was taken in by Lake Norfork.

Ruth is survived by 2 sons, Bobby (Jane) Lance of Mountain Home, AR and Donnie (Karen) Lance of Salem, AR; 8 grandchildren, Tony, Michael (Amy), Shawn (Chrissy) Amy, Daniel, Jeremy, and Hannah Lance and Brandy (James) Freeman; 2 sisters, Mabel Mobbs of Springdale, AR, Ethel Murphy of Mountain Home, AR; 2 sisters-in-law, Wanda George of Mountain Home, AR and Imogene Dillinger of Happy, TX; a daughter-in-law, Sheila of Whiteville and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents,her husband Clyde Lance, Sr. one son, Clyde "Johnny" Lance Jr., and one brother, Ray George.

Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, with Tony, Michael, Shawn, Daniel, and Jeremy Lance and Derek Scott as pallbearers. Doyle Hammock and Dean Martin, Lindel Anthony, Randy McNabb, Gerald Lance, Sonny Kassinger and Dr. Robert Kerr will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Fairhaven Children's Home in Strafford, Missouri..
