Ruth Newell

Ruth K. Newell was born May 29, 1918 at El Paso, Texas to Frank G. and Luisa Kaerwer. She graduated from El Paso High School and Business School. She married Henry Hay in 1941 at El Paso who preceded her in death. She then married Oliver J. Newell on April 10, 1971 in Ft. Worth, Texas. She worked as a metalligerical accountant for Kennecott Copper Mining and Smeltering Company. Ruth Newell moved to Bruno, Arkansas in 2003 from Richardson, Texas. She attended the Bruno Baptist Church for the past three years.She passed away on September 17, 2006 at Baxter Regional Medical Center at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 18 days. Survivors: One daughter Thelma (Wayne) Gay of Bruno, Arkansas two grandsons: Gregg A.(Kimberly) Gay of Benbrook, Texas and Brandon K(Heather) Gay of Katy, Texas, two great grandchildren: Lauren and Wyatt Gay of Benbrook, Texas. One brother; George (Poni) Kaerwer of Abilene, Texas, Three Sisters; Nora (C.E.) Collins of Sweetwater, Texas, Olga (Johnny) Woodrow of Austin, Texas and Wilma (C.E.) Dugger of El Paso, Texas. Preceded in Death by: her parents, both husbands, three brothers: Frank, Bob and Richard Kaerwer and three sisters Laura Kaerwer, Stella Brown and Esther Ashley. Funeral: A Memorial Service for Ruth K. Newell will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Bruno Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Dale Huskey officiating. Burial: A Committial Service will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park in El Paso, Texas at 10:30 Saturday, September 23, 2006. Memorials: Arkansas Boys Ranch. Additional Notes: Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a love of life that was contagious and was a friend to all. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
