Samuel Roth

d. December 28, 2006

Funeral services for Sam Roth, 16, of Mountain Home will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2 at Gassville Baptist Church with Reverend Gary Wise officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 1 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sam was born on April 1, 1990, to Steve and Linda Roth in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He entered into heaven on December 28, 2006. Sam was a loving, caring and gentle young man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed riding his dirt bike, working on anything with a motor (especially his truck), and spending time at the lake riding the tube (especially if he was able to knock his sister off). He always had a tender spot in his heart for animals, especially his dog. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time with his friends, many of whom he had gone to school with since kindergarten. He was very active in school, including many clubs, and had been involved in Gassville Baptist Youth, basketball and Tae Kwon Do for many years. Sam is survived by his loving parents and sister Courtney of the home; grandmothers, Mary Vierhout and Lea Roth, both of Gassville; great-grandma Margaret Roth; Aunt Jessi (Elmo) Dutton of Mountain Home; Uncle Mike (Linda) Vierhout of Lowpoint, Illinois; Aunt Mary Ann (Dave) Stewart of Grayson, Georgia; cousins, Grace Dutton, Beth Ireland, Becky Vierhout, David Vierhout, and Heather, Katie, Jon, Abbie, Liby and Ben Stewart; and too many numerous friends and relatives to list. He was welcomed to heaven by his grandfathers, Bill Vierhout and Steve Roth and great-grandfather Everett Roth. Burial will be in Gassville Cemetery with Billy Brown, Elmo Dutton, Jim Whitaker, Josh Whitaker, Dale Hershberger and Charlie Willett as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Cotter Graduating Class of 2008. Thank you Lord for blessing our family and community with this fine young man, though we wish it were longer, we are thankful for every minute we had with him. Donations can be made in honor of Sam Roth to Cotter Warrior Foundation or Gassville Baptist Youth, both in c/o First National Bank, to help enhance young men and women?s futures.
