Shelby W. Wood was born July 7, 1925 at Sallisaw, Oklahoma the son of Homer Harvey Wood and Addie Lou Cheek Wood. He married Bobbie Teague at Delano, California on May 6, 1950 and had resided in the Gamaliel area since moving from Las Vegas, Nevada in 1980. He worked at the Wells Fargo Bank for 32 years and was a veteran of the US Army during World War II. He was wounded in World War II just before the Battle of The Bulge.He enjoyed woodworking, painting, poetry, fishing, TV and the computer.He was a member of Ozark VFW Post #3246 in Mountain Home and the 101 Presbyterian Church in Gamaliel. He entered into eternal June 20, 2006 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 80. Survivors: Wife, Bobbie of Gamaliel; sons Gary W. Wood & wife Coleen of Las Vegas, Nevada, Del Wood & wife Birdie of Lebanon, Missouri; daughter Dyana Ray of Mountain Home, Arkansas; sisters Alys Margaret Benton of Vallejo, California and Laura Evelyn Williams of McFarland, California; 8 Grandchildren, Christy, Amanda, Julie, Erik, Billy, Erin, Kristina and Kayla; 6 Great Grandchildren and Several Nieces & Nephews Preceded in Death by: Parents and a sister (Lena Mae Tucker) Funeral: Memorial Service at 101 Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 10:00 AM Burial: Burial will be in Maynard Bend Cemetery in Gamaliel, Arkansas Memorials: 101 Presbyterian Church or Gamaliel Volunteer Fire Department
