Shella Lynn Cox Hagan, 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in Cotter, Arkansas. Shella was born on March 29, 1944, in Del Rio, Texas, to Weldon and Mary Cox. She graduated from Sanderson High School in Sanderson, TX and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). Shella married Tommy on August 13, 1966 in Sanderson, Texas. She started her career in early education, working for San Antonio School District. Throughout her teaching career, she taught at Salem Elementary in Bryant, Arkansas, and Walnut Valley Christian Academy and Otter Creek Elementary in Little Rock, Arkansas. She retired in 2000 and moved to Cotter in 2006. While a great educator, Shella was best known for being a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend.
Shella is survived by her husband, Tommy Hagan of Cotter, AR; two sons, Rob (Dennis Hong) Hagan of Boston, MA, and Bo (Beth) Hagan of Richardson, TX; two grandsons, Hunter and Wyatt Hagan; niece, Dara Cox Wheeler; and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Darrell Glenn Cox.
Visitation will be Monday, October 10, 2022, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, at Twin Lakes Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life will be follow, at 11:00 am at Twin Lakes Baptist Church, with Dr. Sam Bailey officiating.
