Shirley Spencer Gardner was born March 21, 1932, in Springfield, Illinois. She was the daughter of Elmer and Anna Pricer Spencer. She married Darrell D. Gardner on February 14th, 1979 in Springfield, Illinois. Mrs. Gardner was a landscape architect and lived in Springfield, Illinois prior to moving to Mountain Home in 1980. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, bird watching, needlepoint, knitting and she was the owner of the Lakeview Garden Center. She was a member of Bull Shoals Methodist Church and a member of PEO and Beta Alpha Gamma Sorority, Phi Beta Kappa, National Honor Society and Landscape Architects of America. Shirley Spencer Gardner passed away at Baxter Regional Medical Center on March 10, 2005, at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 29 days. Survivors: Husband, Darrell D. Gardner of Mountain Home, Arkansas; son, Mark Chapman of Mountain Home; daughter, Beth Woodman of Redmond, Washington, granddaughter, Samantha Woodman; step-son, Roland (Robyn) Gardner, and step-grandchildren, Veronica and Nick Gardner all from Houston, Texas Preceded in Death by: Parents Funeral: A Gathering of Friends for Shirley S.
