Shirley J. Hessian passed away on March 11, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Shirley was born on April 21, 1946, in Spokane, Missouri, to her loving parents, William and Vera Creson Burk. She was a dedicated employee at Harps grocery store for 21 years, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and work ethic.
Shirley will always be remembered for her joyful spirit and unwavering love for her family. She is survived by her two sons, Doug Hessian and Mark Hessian of Mountain Home, AR; her daughter Jennifer (Max Melton) Nesbitt of Mountain Home, AR. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Shyann Hessian, Summer Hessian, Josh Hessian, Kyle Hessian, Casey Hessian, Zachary Nesbitt, Ashley (Michael) Duncan; and one great-grandson Krisstoff Nesbitt. In addition to her immediate family, Shirley is survived by her niece, Christy Gross; two great-nieces, Abby Gross and Danyel (Jimmy) Lucas; and great-nephew, Kayson Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steven Hessian; sister, Kathy Fletcher; nephew, Dwayne Fletcher; and grandson, Keith Hessian.
Shirley had a passion for painting, cooking delicious meals, and spending time working in the yard. Her talents and hobbies brought joy to those around her and will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A visitation to celebrate Shirley's life will take place at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel on March 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service on March 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The Graveside Service will immediately follow at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery & Mausoleum in the Open-Air Chapel.
Shirley Hessian's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was cherished by many and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she met throughout her life.
