A Memorial Service for Shirley C. Jewell of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Saturday, August 12, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Tom Frase officiating.
Shirley passed away August 2, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 88. She was born February 9, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Arvid and Karin Regnell Ekdahl. She married Clifton Jewell on September 12, 1959, in Mountain Home, Arkansas after moving here from Chicago, Illinois. They owned the Rocking Chair Resort and she worked as an Insurance Agent for Shelter Insurance and then became a Tax Consultant. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing the piano and church activities.
Shirley is survived by her son, Lorin Jarrett of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Linda Lynn of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Darin (Laura) Jarrett, Cody (Sarah) Jarrett and Laura Lynn; great-grandchildren, Kenzi, Adelyn and Raylea; brother, Bernard "Sonny" (Sue) Ekdahl of Searcy, AR and a niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and sister, Phyllis Trost.
Burial will be in the Mountain Home Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home, Arkansas or Springfield Bible Church, Springfield, Missouri.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
