A Funeral Service for Sidney Owen Potter of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society Chapel, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, January 11, 2014 1:00 pm until time of service.
Sidney passed away January 7, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 90. He was born February 12, 1923, in Canada, the son of Charles and Minnie Seaar Potter. He married Edith Mangum in the 1940's, at Fuquay-Varina, NC. Sidney was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. He lived in Mountain Home since the early 90's, moving from Lake Gaston, NC. He was a member of the Cattlemen's Association and The American Legion. After retiring from the U.S. Army, he worked as a safety inspector for C.W. Wright Construction Company in Richmond, Virginia.
Sidney is survived by his wife, Edith Potter of Mountain Home, AR; two sons, John (Hollis) Potter of King William, VA and Charles Rhodell of MO; and two grandchildren, Sidney O. Potter II and Edith Rose Potter of King William, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sister.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guard.
