Services for Simon "Sam" Van Etten, 85, of Gamaliel, Arkansas, will be private.
Sam passed away December 30, 2014, in Gamaliel, Arkansas. He was born March 31, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Henry and Marie Nelson Van Etten. Sam was a U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII. He enjoyed reading, keeping current with the news, playing the lottery, visiting friends and family and going out for breakfast. He enjoyed old movies and was an excellent carpenter and loved his work.
Sam is survived by his three nephews, Curt (Carrie) Racine of Gamaliel, AR, Keith (Charlene) Racine of Mountain Home, AR and Ron (Liz) Van Etten of Elizabeth, AR and several extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Norman and Jim Van Etten and sisters, Ellen Racine and Irene Cramp.
