Stella B. Kancyr, age 92, peacefully passed away on November 1,2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Born on February 16, 1932, in Troy, New York, she was the beloved daughter of Adam and Eva Kozlowski. Stella's journey in life included a cherished marriage to Harry Kancyr on September 1, 1970, in Saratoga County, New York.
Stella devoted her working years to the hospitality industry as a hostess and waitress at Red Lobster, where her warmth and care for others shone brightly. In 2022, she moved to Mountain Home from Texas, where she continued to embrace life with her passion for antiques and her innate desire to help those around her. She loved to cook and entertain family and friends.
She leaves behind her daughter, Stella (Charles) Richey; grandson, Johnny (Shanda) Richey; and her great-granddaughter, Stella. Stella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Kancyr; her brothers, Walt, Chet, Joe, Louie, Jimmy, and Frankie; and her sister, Carrie.
Memorial Contributions may be made the Hospice of the Ozarks. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. The family is receiving arrangements through Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Stella's spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. She will be especially remembered for her sense of humor and her quick tongue.
