Susan Carol Kolthoff was born on April 1, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Bernice Schmidt. She passed away on April 3, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Susan led a fulfilling life dedicated to caring for others. After graduating from high school, she pursued her passion for nursing and worked diligently towards becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her career as an LPN was not just a job but a calling where she touched the lives of many with her comforting care and unwavering dedication. She and Wendell Dean Kolthoff were united in marriage on November 7, 1964, in Chicago, and together, they had four children.
In addition to her successful career, Susan found joy in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She shared numerous precious moments with her beloved family. In 2001, she moved to Mountain Home, where she became an active and devoted member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
Susan leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion through her surviving family: four children who meant the world to her, Kip Kolthoff of Taylor, MO, Raymond (Rhonda) Kolthoff of Wonder Lake, IL, Cindy Ruiz of McHenry, IL, and Richard (Jennifer) Kolthoff of Johnsburg, IL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica (Lewis) Wolf, Chelsea Ruiz, Cassandra Ruiz, Jeffrey Ruiz, Evan Ruff, Lucas and Logan Kolthoff, Elizabeth Mewes, Josie Kolthoff, and Amelia Kolthoff; and several great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Alex Kolthoff, and brother, Raymond Jack Schmidt. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Susan's kindness, warmth, and dedication to helping others will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
