Thomas died Thursday, October 28, 2010 at his residence at the age of 75. He was born July 24, 1935 in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of William and Katie Hullinger Hancock. He married Gayle Butler on July 24, 1980 at Forrest City, Arkansas and worked as a Plant Manager for Franklin Electric. Thomas was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Thomas lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 2004 moving from McAlester, Oklahoma. He was a Mason, enjoyed woodworking, home improvement and fishing.

Thomas is survived by his wife Gayle of the home; 2 sons, Thomas Gene Hancock Jr. of Corpus Christi, TX and David Hancock of Camby, IN; 4 daughters, Brenda Harrison of Lampasas, TX, Mary Ellen Sanders of Lampasas, TX, Kim Hancock-Bess of Mountain Home, AR and Shelby Bess of Mountain Home, AR; 1 brother; 1 sister; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and special friends, Jessie and ginger Jackson of McAlester, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House or American Cancer Association.
