A funeral service for Thomas Jessie McKinney of Yellville, Arkansas, will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Rodney Fry officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Thomas died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Regency Select Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the age of 83. Thomas was born September 15, 1927 in Searcy County, Arkansas, the son of Jessie Thomas and Naomi Steele McKinney. He worked as a custodian for University of Arkansas. Thomas lived in Yellville, Arkansas for 22 years moving from Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #165 of Bellfonte, Arkansas. Thomas is survived by 2 sons, Everett (Shelly) McKinney of Little Rock, AR, and Charlie (Annette) McKinney of Truman, AR; 2 sisters, Edna (Fred) Gardner of Harrison, AR, and Anna (James) Phifer of Bergman, AR; and 2 brothers, Joe McKinney of Avoca, AR, and Cleo (Mary) McKinney of Pea Ridge, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Roy and Charlie McKinney, and a sister, Walsy Jane McKinney. Burial will be in the Osborne Cemetery in St. Joe, Arkansas, with Fred Gardner, Dustin Phifer, Danny Hall, Daryl Hall, Ron Skyver, and Larry Joe McKinney as pallbearers, and Raymond Jones and James Phifer as honorary pallbearers.
