A Funeral Service for Thomas Lee Reich of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Reverend Kenneth Taglauer officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Thomas passed away May 21, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 79. He was born May 14, 1936, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Ervin and Anna Quandt Reich. He married Barbara Smith on November 7, 1980, at Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was a member of the United Automobile Workers Local 72 in Kenosha, Wisconsin and worked for American Motors/Chrysler Corp. He retired after 30 years. Thomas was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He lived in Mountain Home since 1994, moving from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #1714, Mountain Home. He enjoyed fishing, watching old western movies and most importantly, spending time with his family, pets and many friends. Thomas was an active member of the UAW Retired Workers Council, serving as the Financial Secretary.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Reich of Mountain Home, AR; son, W. Craig (Lynn) Smith of Augusta, GA; two daughters, Del Edelbrock of Mountain Home, AR and Lorin (Kurt) Gensler of Yellville, AR; two brothers, William (Aliene) Reich of Mesquite, TX and Gerald (Cathy) Reich of Waukesha, WI; sister, Bonnie (Edwin) Loving of Milwaukee, WI; six grandchildren, Rebecca May (Tim) Finley, Jennifer Lee (Kevin) Hamilton, Jessica Jean Enright all of Milwaukee, WI, Taylor Marie, Rebecca Brooks and William Armin Smith all of Augusta, GA and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald and James Reich and two sisters, Doris Fischer and Carol Ische.
Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, AR, with Kurt Gensler, W. Craig Smith, Gerald Reich, Tim Finley, Larry Kitson, and Dave Hendricks as pallbearers. William Reich and Eddie Chomicki will be honorary pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guards.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Central Arkansas Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
