Thomas Mathias Worms

A Funeral Mass for Thomas Mathias Worms of Lakeview, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Friday, December 9, 2016, at St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church, with Reverend Father Christopher Okeke as Celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2016, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, with a Vigil Service at 6:00 pm, at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Thomas passed away December 5, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 79. He was born January 5, 1937, in New Munich, Minnesota, the son of Hubert and Christine Hoppe Worms. He married Susan Schorn on May 6, 1961, at Raymond, Minnesota and worked as a hydraulic mechanic for AT&T which later became Lucent Technologies. Thomas was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Thomas lived in Lakeview since January 1991, moving from Omaha, Nebraska. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles and Retired Fishermen Club.

Thomas is survived by his sister-in-law, Lois Schorn of Lakeview, AR; nieces and nephew, Cindy Bennett of Katy, TX, Diane (Mike) Gustafson of Woodbury, MN and, Kevin Ertl of Montana; great nieces and nephews, A.J. Bennett, Chris Worms, Brandi Bennett and Sydney Gustafson and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Susan Worms; one brother; one sister and one nephew.

Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with A.J. Bennett, Chris Worms, Riley Holland, Mike Wolosz, Richard Fedderson and Greg Spiegle. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 and United States Air Force Honor Guards.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks or American Heart Association.
