On Saturday, July 20, Toni Marvel Maple Rooker made a beautiful and peaceful transition into the divine, under the full moon. Born April 22,1942 in Tulare, California, Toni spent her youth all over the San Joaquin Valley; she went to school in Galt, Lodi, Woodbridge, and Stockton. She met Don Rooker, the love of her life, in Modesto and their great adventure together began in 1959. Don and Toni had two children in California before settling in Carson Valley, Nevada in 1967. Toni enjoyed being a full-time wife and mother. She loved cooking, decorating, painting and being in service to her family. Toni often demonstrated her love through passionate and dramatic expressions and acts, which she became quite well-known for. Toni started her Real Estate career in 1978. Toni and Don opened Sierra Sunset Realty, which later became the first Century 21 franchised office in the state of Nevada. It was called Century 21 Sunset Realty. During her 45-year career, Toni won every award possible including; Centurian, Double Centurion, and Triple Centurian. Eventually, Toni took her show on the road and was also licensed in Arkansas and Arizona, as she enjoyed frequent travel and residing in multiple states. Despite living with renal failure and the challenges that multiple kidney transplants and dialysis bring, she never let anything slow her down. Her personal values included helping others and taking care of her family. Her legacy of sacrifice and hard work ethic will be remembered by all of us, as we think back on our years with Toni. In 2023, at 81, Toni finally decided to semi retire, giving up two of her real estate licenses, but continuing to speak to clients and work through referrals. Her example of working hard until the end of her life will be a part of her incredible legacy. Out of all the lessons that Toni taught us, the one thing she didn’t teach us was how to live without her.
Toni is survived by her two children, Ron Rooker, and Cynthia Davis (Nessa Calabrese); her favorite son-in-law, Nick Davis (Mauricio Pereira); beloved grandchildren, Lena Davis (Greg Davis), Macy Davis (Dario Muciño), Chloe Dallas (Marley Dallas), Dominic Demilio and Rocco Demilio; her heart and joy, her great-grandchildren, Nixon and Carl Davis, and Maya Muciño; siblings, Lester Maple (Cathy Maple), Jerry Maple (Roxi Maple), and Joann Bruns (Dennis Bruns).
Toni’s nephew, Jacob Maple, his amazing wife Becky, and their two children Lucas and Maddie, brought her an unprecedented level of love, support, companionship and joy, in her last many years. Their sacrifices and love will always be revered.
In her final years Toni delighted in her special time with Mackenzie. We take comfort knowing Mackenzie will always have an angel watching over her.
She was also blessed with 20 nephews and nieces, 45 great nephews and nieces, and 10 great-great nephews and nieces. Toni loved being around the sight and sound of all the children.
A very special great nephew, Jax, spent hours by her bedside on her last day, giving her his love and presence. It was an amazing gift.
Toni is preceded in death by Don, her loving eternal companion.
