Anthony "Tony" Parashis was born June 28, 1932, at Chicago, IL, to Daniel and Rose Smith Parashis. He married Karen J. Fikar on January 8, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a Fork Lift Operator for Dominicks Foods for over 23 years. He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War as a private 1st class Medic and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Parashis lived in Villa Park, IL before moving to the Mountain Home area in July of 1994. He was a member of the American Legion, Knight of Columbus 40:8, and the Korean War Veterans. He was of the Catholic faith. Survivors: his wife, Karen Parashis, of Mountain Home, 3 sons, Daniel (Melissa) Parashis, of Downers Grove, IL, Edwin Parashis, of Westmont, IL, Anthony (Angela) Parashis, of Memphis, TN, 4 daughters, Kathleen Grzeskiewicz, of Baltimore, MD, Antoinette Baker , of Jerseyville, IL, Elaine Prosek, of Darien, IL, Diane (John) Guarantano, of Winston Salem, NC, 1 brother, Tom (Basha) Parashis, of Cary, IL, 3 sisters, Sophie Zavouris, of Des Plains, IL, Penny (Pete) Douvikas, of Libertyville, IL, Mary (Niebes) Guerrero, of Chicago, IL, 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: his parents, and 2 brothers Visitation: 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday March 8 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Friday March 9, 2007 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home with Deacon Richard Linstad officiating.
