Velma passed away January 1, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 95. She was born September 30, 1917, in Barnes City, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Ethel Sarvis McMains. She married Robert Scull on February 4, 1938, at Juarez, Mexico and worked as a nurse's aide for Grinnell General Hospital. Velma lived in Mountain Home, since 1986 moving from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a member of the Twin Lakes Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W.
Velma is survived by her two daughters, Renee (Tim) Brooks of Gainesville, MO and Barbara Louise Gay of Nashville, TN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Warner (Mary) McMains of Pinole, CA and one sister, Dorothy Gifford of Pella, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 sons, Dale Scull and Larry Scull.
Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery, Lynnville, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to the Twin Lakes Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
