Vena Wood was born January 24, 1913 in Flippin, Arkansas. She was the daughter of James Lindon and Santa Ophelia Barnett Marberry. She married Lucian Wood on December 25, 1933 in Flippin, Arkansas. Mrs. Wood was a postal clerk and route carrier with the Flippin branch of the United States Post Office for thirty-four years. She was a lifetime resident of Flippin. Mrs. Wood was a member of the VFW Auxillary 6456, Clark Padgett Post in Flippin and member of Antioch Baptist Church. Vena Wood passed away at Twin Lakes Nursing Center on June 18, 2005, at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 24 days.
