A Funeral Service for Vera Margaret Hughes, 77, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Bob Crawford officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, at the funeral home. Vera died January 19, 2013, in Enid, Oklahoma at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born January 11, 1936 to Marina "Nana" Tikonova Tartyshiev and James Harold Martindale. She was married to William "Ed" Hughes on September 14, 1980 at Carson City, Nevada. She was a resident of Mountain Home since moving from Jamestown, California in September of 1983. She was a member of the V.F.W., Red Hat Society, Friends of the Taxpayers, Elks Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary. The occupation of her life was what she did best and loved to do the most to be a mother and a best friend. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, helping other people and cooking for various other organizations and friends in the community. She also went to nursing school where she was certified as an L.P.N. Vera is survived by her six sons, Richard (Julie) Jones of Everett, WA, Michael Ciampi of Mountain Home, AR, James Ciampi of Enid, OK, Charles (Pamela) Ciampi of Highland Village, TX, Joseph Ciampi of Palo Alto, CA and Stan (Brianna) Hughes of Boulder Creek, CA; two daughters, Lynn (Larry) Tracy of Salem, AR, and Karen Hughes of Monterey, CA; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed Hughes; sister, Helen McNie; daughter, Renee Whitehead and daughter-in-law, Paula Ciampi. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR, with Michael Ciampi, Trent Ciampi, Larry Tracy, Rick Ciampi-Jones, Nick Ciampi and Stan Hughes as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Breast Cancer Awareness. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
