Funeral Services for Verlin Scott Huett of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Ken Avaritt officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, January 25, 2014, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Verlin passed away January 21, 2014, at the age of 95. He was born August 14, 1918, in Wild Cherry, Arkansas, the son of James and Fannie Watts Huett. He married Eva Ruth Shrable on April 22, 1939, at Mountain Home and was a homebuilder for 50 years. Verlin was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He lived in the Mountain Home area most of his life and was a member of the Walker Road Church of Christ. He owned and operated 62 East Carwash, where he enjoyed visiting with his many friends. He also enjoyed woodworking, farming and spending time with his grandkids.
Verlin is survived by his two daughters; Janis (Earl) Blasdel of Mountain Home, AR and Joann Hendon, of Bandera, TX; daughter-in-law, Laura Huett, of Mountain Home, AR; his grandchildren, Brian Blasdel, Steven (Jackie) Blasdel, Lacey (Ryan) Robb, Dallas (Alisa) Blasdel, Cathy (Kevin) Beckham, Chris (Cassie) Huett, Debbie (David) Arnold, Teresa (Larry) Habegger, Tommy (Sue) Hendon, Michael Hendon, and Allen Hendon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth Huett; son, Michael Huett; three brothers and one sister.
Burial will be in the Custer-Herron Cemetery, Henderson, Arkansas,with Brian Blasdel, Steven Blasdel, Dallas Blasdel, Chris Huett, Ryan Robb and Tommy Hendon as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Hendon, Allen Hendon, David Arnold, Kevin Beckham, Dicky Huett, Walter Pittaway, and all of his great grandsons.
