Vern Sawyer

Vern McClellan Sawyer was born November 26, 1926 at Buttonwillow, California to Francis McClellan and Nancy Ann Turner Sawyer. He married Charlsie Whitaker on March 31, 1926 in Nashville Tennessee. Mr. Sawyer was a production supervisor who worked for Fairchild Corporation in California for 31 years. He was a member of the Mountain Home Church of Christ and a WWII Navy Veteran. He lived in Mountain Home since 1989 having moved from Azusa, California. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He passed away at his residence on August 16, 2006 at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 20 days. Survivors: One son; Jerry (Mary) Sawyer of Azusa, California, two daughters; Doloras (Dennis) Masson of Moreno Valley, California and Frances (Caeser) Carmona of Las Vegas, Nevada, two granddaughters; Esther Sawyer and Joanne Long and four great granddaughters; Sawyer Lee long and Emily Sawyer, Mackay Daisy Long and Campbell Long. One Sister; Thelma Angel of Virginia. Preceded in Death by: Parents, his wife, two brothers and one sister Visitation: from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 22, 2006. Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Ken Burton officiating and the Ozark VFW Post 3246 honor guard furnishing military honors. Burial: Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Memorials: American Society for the Blind.
