Verna Leone "Lee" Green died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center at the age of 86. She was born August 11, 1920 at Cazenovia, Wisconsin the daughter of Harry and Bessie Long Simpson. She married Cyril Greene on June 25, 1955 and had resided in the Mountain Home area since moving from Chicago, Illinois in 1997. Mrs. Greene served with the Civil Air Patrol during World War II and was a former secretary at the Cadillac division of General Motors Parts Department for 35 years. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, boating, and playing Cribbage. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Cheer Club at the church. Survivors: Daughter, Rebecca (Tony) Scalise of Clarkridge, Ar; 1 brother, Keith (Joyce)Simpson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews and her daughter's best friend, Tammy Lee Greenberg, who was like a second daughter to her. Preceded in Death by: Parents and husband, 1 sister and 1 brother Visitation: Visitation will be Friday, April 20, 2007 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral: Funeral services for Verna Leone "Lee" Greene will be Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Art Rosenkotter officiating. Burial: Burial will be private in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Memorials: In Mrs. Greene's memory, her daughter, Rebecca, and Rebecca's friend, Tammy, will be walking 60 miles in 3 days over the weekend of Lee's birthday, August 10, 11 and 12th to benefit the Susan G.
