Funeral Services for Vernon Ray ?Brandon? Blake will be 1PM Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals with Pastor Grace Haggart officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, January 8th at the funeral home from 4-6PM. Brandon took his last dance with friends on New Year?s Eve. He was 50 years old.

Brandon was born June 25, 1960 at Bakersfield, CA to Hubert and Janeth Wegner Blake. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation. Brandon lived with his life partner, Jerome ?Jerry? Sexton of Bull Shoals, AR for over 19 years. He was a lead press operator for High Desert Publications in Yucca Valley, CA for over 20 years. Brandon was the co-owner of the Rancho San Jose Tavern in Wonder Valley, CA. Since moving to Arkansas four years ago Brandon had worked at Micro-Plastics, Inc and was a Cell Quality Inspector. Brandon was a faithful friend who could tell stories that would have you laughing on the floor, but he would also listen attentively to your story. Brandon loved to connect with friends and would spend hours on facebook and email. He was truly accepting of others, but was never able to feel accepted himself. Brandon served as a heavy machine operator in the United States Navy and was a member of ?By HIS Grace Church? in Lakeview, AR.

He is survived by his life partner, Jerry of the home; his mother, Janeth Stethenson (Frank) of Wilhoit, AZ; father, Hubert Blake of Rockwell, AR; son, Gregory Blake (Tracy) of Marysville, WA; daughter, Amanda Blake of Rancho Mirage, CA; two brothers, Scott Blake of Wilhoit, AZ and Nelson Blake (Sharon) of Summit, AR; one grandchild, Ashlynn Blake; nieces Autumn, Amy and Emily; nephew, Anthony and loyal canine companions, Yoda, Trooper, and Max.

Burial will be in Newton Flat Cemetery with Jerome Sexton, Harry Van Gorden, Charles Halog, Becca Halog, Nelson Blake, and Scott Blake as pallbearers.

Following the internment, a luncheon will be served by the ?By HIS Grace Church? at the Lakeview City Hall Community Room.
