Versa Poynter

Versa M. Poynter was born October 21, 1920 in Rea Valley, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Ewing and Laura Jones Duggins. She married Steve Poynter Jr. on December 25, 1935 in Rea Valley. She was a housewife and spent all her life in this area. Versa M. Poynter passed away on April 29, 2005 at Baxter Regional Medical Center at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 8 days. Survivors: Son, Luther W. Poynter and Shirley, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; daughter, Bobbie (Gary) Tucker of Mountain Home; grandchildren, Michael and Shelly Tucker, Jane and Bashan Bradbury, Karen and Rick Watkins and David Poynter; great- grandchildren, Garrett and Bradley Tucker and Haley Watkins; sister, Willia Humphrey and a host of nieces and nephews Preceded in Death by: Husband, Steve Poynter Jr. who passed away May 5, 1978; one grandson, five brothers, two sisters and her parents Visitation: 1:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral: Graveside services at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Cotter, Arkansas, for Versa M.
