Viola E. Howard

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date with family and friends in Southern California for Viola E. Howard of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Viola passed away March 14, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 100. She was born January 31, 1915, in Niobrara, Nebraska, the daughter of Edward and Florence Bubb. She married John A. Howard in 1933, who passed away in December of 1987.

Viola has always been a very active, independent and energetic individual who dearly loved her family, church group and many friends. She was a very good cook, homemaker and enjoyed gardening and ceramic pottery. Moving from Nebraska in 1954, she was employed in the Aero Space industry and then the Inglewood School District where she retired in 1980. In 1981 she moved to Santa Maria, California where she sold real estate for another fifteen years. She was a past member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution. In 2003, she moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas to be with her daughter and son.

Viola is survived by her son, Larry Howard of Mountain Home, AR; sisters, Lois White of Oklahoma City, OK and Carolyn Nelson of Loma Linda, CA; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Marjorie Colby; four siblings and one grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
