A Funeral Service for Virgie Verlene Camp of Midway, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at College & North Church of Christ, with Brother Steven Ashcraft (Ghanain Missionary)(studied with and brought to the Lord), officiating. Visitation will be Monday, January 7, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Verlene passed away January 6, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. She was born November 22, 1930, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, the daughter of Everett and Ruby Cowart Chandler. She married Joseph Camp on January 26, 1946, at Mountain Home, Arkansas and worked as a gardener for Camp's Plants. Verlene was a lifetime resident of the area. She was a member of the College and North Church of Christ. She enjoyed bringing people to the Lord, selling plants at the greenhouse as an avenue to do so, and was very active in supporting mission trips around the world. She loved God's family. She lived for the first day of the week when she could worship God and meet with Him for communion. Verlene is survived by her mother, Ruby Jane Chandler, of Mountain Home, AR, three sons, Wayne (Carolyn) Camp of Mountain Home, AR, Lloyd Wesley (Lana) Camp of Midway, AR, and David (Stephanie) Camp of Vidor, TX, twelve grandchildren, Chris Camp of Conway, AR, Somer Day and her three children of Greeley, CO, Landrey Camp and her son of Mountain Home, AR, Lloyd, Jr. (Tara D.) Camp and their two daughters of Mountain Home, AR, Larry "L.D." (Tera L.) Camp of Mountain Home, AR, Lisa (Jason) Trevino and their four sons of Clarkridge, AR, Brandon Camp of Mountain Home, AR, Kyle (Jessie) Camp and their son of Mountain Home, AR, Bobbie Camp of Vidor, TX, Aleice Camp of Vidor, TX, Ariana Camp of Vidor, TX, and David Camp of Vidor, TX, three sisters, Dorothy Heronimus of Midway, AR, Essie Stone of Mountain Home, AR, and Ceilie (Leon) Messick of Mountain Home, AR, several nieces and nephews and scores of church family. She was preceded in death by her father and husband. Burial will be in the Baxter Memorial Gardens, Mountain Home, Arkansas with Bill Dillon, officiating. Memorials may be made to College and North Church of Christ. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
