Virgil Bitner

Virgil L. Bitner was born December 11, 1933 at Kingston, Illinois to Emil and Erma Clark Bitner. He married Glenda Gouff on August 9, 1951 at Glasford, Illinois. He worked for the Keystone Steel and Wire in Bartonville, Illinois as a wire drawer for 18 years before moving to Lakeview in 1971 from Glasford. He owned and operated the Waterfront Resort in Lakeview for 14 years. He retired from the Grover Township Fire Department after 20 years of service. He was a Baptist. Survivors: He is survived by his wife Glenda Bitner of Lakeview, Two sons; William Bitner and wife Pamela of Avon, Illinois and David Bitner of Schertz, Texas. Two daughters; Catherine Bitner-Volk and husband Tom of Peoria, Illinois and Alisa Henderson and husband Russell of Claremore, Oklahoma. Six Grandchildren and His parents; Emil and Erma Bitner of Pekin, Illinois. One Brother Douglas Bitner and wife Marvel of Hanna City, Illinois. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by one sister. Funeral: Funeral Services and burial for Virgil L. Bitner of Lakeview will be private. Burial: Burial will be private.
