Services for Wallace Reed of Bull Shoals, Arkansas will be private. Mr. Reed died Friday, November 19, 2010 at Baxter Regional Medical Center, at the age of 84.
Wallace Reed was born June 28, 1926 in Sorento, IL, the son of Oliver and Cleda Pfister Reed. He married Doris G. Lake on February 27, 1949 at Pocahontas, AR. He worked as an Agent-Operator for Burlington Northern Railroad. Wallace Reed was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in Rhineland Central Europe. While in the 42nd Infantry Division (Rainbow) serving our country, he received numerous decorations and citations. Wallace lived in Bull Shoals, Arkansas for 21 years moving from New Douglas, IL. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Wallace is survived by his daughter - Janice (Ron) Butler of Wentzville, MO; son - Stephen Reed of Bull Shoals, AR; brother - Leroy Reed; 2 sisters - Shirley Neal, and Betty Jarman; 2 grandsons, Derek and Justen Butler, and 3 great-grandchildren; Grace, Colin, and Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Inurnment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to the Hoevel-Barnett V.F.W. Post #1341 and Auxiliary.
