Memorial services for Walter Burt McWilliams, 92, of Mountian Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00PM, Friday, Demember 3, 2010 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Max Pyron officiating.
Walter McWilliams died Thursday, November 25, 2010, at Care Manor Nursing Center. He was born December 5, 1917 at Roscommon, Michigan the son of Delburt Hugh and Mattie M. Lumley McWilliams. He married Thelma S. Johnsont, May 28, 1946 in Michigan. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in Europe. He owned and operated Burts Barber Shop for 40 years. He was the former Mayor and a member of the American Legion in Grayling, Michigan and a member of the Masonic Lodge #386. He spent his winters in Brownsville, Texas. He lived in Mountain Home since 1982 moving from Grayling, Michigan.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Sheila (David) Frost of Mountain Home, AR and Debbie (Frank) Maggiore of Staten Island, N.Y., 6 grandchildren, David (Kerri)Cornwall of Greeland, AR, Chris Cornwall and Susan Thomas both of Mountain Home, AR, Mary (Kacey) Munford of Rogers, AR, Joseph and Frank Maggiore of Staten Island, NY and 6 great-grandchildren Brett, Seth and Paige Cornwell, Hale and Christina Cornwall and Alex and Natalie Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 son, 1 sister, and 1 brother.
